Avalon Housing’s Annual Home for Good Fundraiser to Feature Art Show

Avalon Housing, a Washtenaw County supportive housing provider, will host its annual fundraiser, Home for Good, on Friday October 12, 2018 from 6:00-9:00pm at Zingerman’s Cornman Farms in Dexter.

Each year Avalon hosts an event to raise funds for support services that help their residents, many of whom have experienced chronic homelessness, stay in their homes. This year’s event will also feature an art show and silent auction with works created by Avalon residents.

Some Avalon artists bring 40 years of experience to this event, while others will be submitting their first-ever piece of art.  All are excited to share their work with the community and have a chance to give back to Avalon.  Half the proceeds from the auction will go to the artists themselves, and the other half to Avalon support services.

Says Aubrey Patiño, Avalon’s Executive Director, “At Avalon a big part of what we do is community building. We get our residents involved in activities like creative arts programs to help them connect to the community around them. This year’s art show will not only raise essential funds for Avalon, but it’s also bringing neighbors together.  Home for Good is a great way for people to see Avalon’s mission in action and see how supportive housing changes people’s lives for the better. “

The evening will also include live music and a strolling dinner with food from Zingerman’s Roadhouse.   To learn more about the event and to purchase tickets to Home for Good, visit avalonhousing.org/homeforgood.
