Swimming and Diving: Pioneers dunk visiting Bedford in SEC dual-meet


The Pioneer swimming and diving team splashed its way to an easy 150-33 win over SEC foe Temperance Bedford on Thursday night at Hill Pool.

Pioneer winning relays included the 200 medley (Lindsay Orringer-Hau, Lily Cramer, Abby Mehraban, Vivian VanRenterghem), 200 free (Lindsay Orringer-Hau, Katie Capelli, Autumn Bullinger, Lily Cramer) and 400 free (Lindsay Orringer-Hau, Katie Capelli, Amelia Weyhing, Holly Pringle).

Individual event winners were Edwina Jalet (200 & 500 free), Lindsay Orringer-Hau (200 IM), Lily Cramer (50 free), Alex Mercier (Diving), Dayna Houston (100 fly), Abby Mehraban (100 free), Amelia Weyhing (100 back), and Holly Pringle (100 breast).

With Alex Mercier achieving her fourth win, Alex has now qualified for the MHSAA Diving Regional. Edwina Jalet earned a state cut in the 500 free.

MISCA qualification times were achieved by Edwina Jalet (200 & 500 free), Amelia Weyhing (200 free & 100 back), Vivian VanRenterghem (200 IM), Quoia Sam (200 IM), Lindsay Orringer-Hau (50 free), Holly Pringle (50 free & 100 breast), and Jenni Kreczkowski (100 free).
