Boys Cross Country: Pioneers run to SEC Championship title

Nick Foster ran away with the individual race and the Pioneers’ boys cross country team ran away with the SEC Red Division championship on Thursday at Hudson Mills in Dexter.

Pioneer took the top three spots and finished with five runners among the first 11 places as they scored 27 points overall. Skyline had an impressive showing with all five runners among the top 13 – usually, that’s more than enough to finish first – and finished second with 45 points.

Saline ran third (67), Huron was fourth (87), Bedford was fifth (141) and Monroe sixth (164).

Now to the leaderboard where Foster was first in 15:22.1 followed by teammates John Florence (15:48.2) and Owen Rennich (16:01.4). Ethan Mielock was 10th (16:30.3), Zac Williston placed 11th (16:36.1), Owen Johnson was 16th (16:46.7) and Drew Allen was 18th (16:48.7) for the speedy Pioneers.
