Swimming: Pioneers celebrate Senior Night with easy win over Monroe


The Pioneer girls’ swimming and diving team celebrated Senior Night with an easy 152-30 win over Monroe in an SEC White dual-meet on Thursday. Throughout the evening, the following seniors and their families were honored: Katie Capelli, Jenni Kreczkowski and Grace Stephan.

Pioneer winning relays were the 200 medley (Quoia Sam, Lily Cramer, Holly Pringle, Amelia Weyhing), 200 free (Amy Rodriguez, Autumn Bullinger, Meg Brady, Vivian VanRenterghem), and 400 free (Vivian VanRenterghem, Jenni Kreczkowski, Amy Rodriguez, Holly Pringle).

Individual event winners included Vivian VanRenterghem (200 free & 500 free), Lindsay Orringer-Hau (200 IM), Jenni Kreczkowski (50 free), Alex Mercier (Diving), Holly Pringle (100 fly), Katie Capelli (100 free), Abby Mehraban (100 back), and Lily Cramer (100 breast).

With her fourth diving win of the season, Tierney Fraidenburg qualified for the MHSAA Diving Regionals.

In swimming, MISCA qualification cuts were accomplished by Amelia Weyhing (100 fly) and Abby Mehraban (100 back).
