The Skyline girls’ swimming and diving team lost to Saline 100-86 Thursday, but the tight competition pushed the team to a combined 28 lifetime-best swims and another 22 season-best returns.

Junior Alison Lock had an exceptional meet, swimming 1:08.58 in the 100 breaststroke to qualify for States, also a lifetime best. She had another two lifetime best swims, with a 31.18 split for her breaststroke in the 200 medley relay and 25.55 in the 50 freestyle.

Freshmen Claire Kozma and Alia Tracy also each clocked three lifetime best swims against Saline.

Junior Casey Chung and freshman Hannah Jyawook each won two events with first-place finishes. Chung swept the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke as Jyawook led the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle races. Skyline also won both the 200 individual medley relay and 400 free relay.

Skyline will host the SEC semifinals at 9 a.m. on Friday and the finals at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
