City Looks to Fill Council Vacancy

Dexter City Council member Ray Tell recently retired from his position on the Council after 25 years of service creating an open seat the City is required to fill.

Dexter’s City Charter requires the Council to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term which ends in November of 2020.

For interested parties, the City Council Member position is a non-partisan position with the following requirements:

  • Must be a resident of the City of Dexter for a minimum of one year.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Interested candidates are asked to provide a Letter of Intent, which includes the candidate’s name, address, contact information, and a description of his or her interest in the position. Letters of intent should be submitted to Courtney Nicholls, Dexter City Manager no later than Friday, November 2, 2018 at 5:00 pm at:
