LPGA: Organizers still working on teeing up an Ann Arbor event in 2019

The LPGA announced its 2019 schedule on Thursday, Dec. 6, during a Golf Central segment on Golf Channel and Ann Arbor was not on the first tee. But organizers who so successfully presented the LPGA Volvik Championship the last three years are still working on brining the best women golfers in the world back to Travis Pointe.

Bruce Madej, media director for the LPGA Volvik Championship, says Tournament Director Keith Karbo is currently in talks with interested parties for a 2019 event.

“LPGA Commissioner Mike Whan is aware of these discussions and has dates available for our tournament,” said Madej. “Having held this tournament successfully for three years, our organization is prepared to operate the event once a title sponsor is confirmed.”
