FGR cheerleaders putting faith, team spirit into action

Now this is something to cheer about.

The Father Gabriel Richard varsity cheer team will be headed to Most Holy Trinity Church in Corktown in Detroit on Saturday (Nov. 8 to volunteer at the annual Children’s Christmas Party.

More than 500 children will attend and receive a visit from Santa, complete with a bag of toys, carols and cookies to decorate.

For many of these children ages 5-10 this is the only Christmas they will have.

There will be 17 cheerleaders, parents and even a couple high school-age siblings helping out.  They will be attending Mass at Most Holy Trinity before the event kicks off to honor our Blessed Mother on the Holy Day of Obligation.

This is a great example of how FGR students are putting their faith and team spirit into action.
