DCO Invites Area’s Young Talent to Annual Youth Artist Competition

The annual Dexter Community Orchestra (DCO) Youth Artist Competition was established in 2006  by Don Parrish, the DCO’s founder, and is in keeping with the organizations aims of fostering music education for all and contributing to the enhancement of performing arts in the Dexter community.

The competition is open to all piano, band, orchestra and vocal students in grades 6 through 12 including public, private and home-schooled students. Winners receive a $400 prize and the opportunity to perform a concerto movement with the orchestra.

Interested candidates must have submitted applications postmarked no later than January 19, 2019. A link to the DCO’s website page containing more details, including a link to the application, which can be found here.
