Rep. Lasinski Named Vice Chair of Committee to Reduce Auto Insurance Rates

LANSING — The Speaker of the House announced committee assignments for the 2019-20 legislative session. State Rep. Donna Lasinski (D-Scio Township) was named Democratic Vice Chair of the newly created Select Committee on Reducing Car Insurance Rates. In response to her appointment, Rep. Lasinski issued the following statement:

“Too many drivers face skyrocketing auto insurance costs and it is long past time for that to change. I am honored to continue my advocacy for no-fault insurance reform while serving alongside Chairman Wentworth this session. Together, we can begin identifying thoughtful solutions for Michigan drivers that will help lower rates without sacrificing our world-class coverage. I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work easing this burden on the pocketbooks of working families throughout Michigan.”
