Boys Swimming: Pioneers race past Monroe in SEC dual-meet

 

The Pioneer boys’ swimming and diving team made quick work of Monroe on Thursday night with an easy 141-42 victory in an SEC Red Division dual-meet.

The Pioneers opened with a win in the medley relay. The team of Anthony McDonough, Henry Cramer, Shashank Chandru and Trent Hitchins went 1:42.45 to finish first.

Pioneer’s Ethan Hume was second in the 200 free (1:51.11).

Pioneer swept the 200 IM with Vaughn Hajra first (2:04.02), Ryan Hume second (2:06.49) and Teodor Jaworski third (2:12.84).

Same story in the 50 free as Hitchins was first (22.19), Chandru second (22.35) and Cramer third (23.38).

Cole Tremewan won diving with 296.25 points with Max Rolla-Mullis second with 213.90 points.

Koa Williams was second in the fly (55.73) with McDonough third (1:00.09).

Chandru took first in the 100 free (49.41) with Alex Farmer second (50.62) and Caleb Rice third (51.69).

Luis Miranda took first place in the 500 free with a time of 4:51.57. Anthony Gibbons was second (5:12.50) and Gabriel Labadie third (5:20.49) for the Pioneers.

The 200-free relay team of Cameron Williston, Kenji Wagner, Williams and Hajra was first in 1:33.11.

Robert Yang won the backstroke in 57.38 with Jack Wilkening second (59.66) and Farmer third (1:01.92).

In the breaststroke, Cramer took first in 1:03.84 and Williston was second in 1:05.11.
The Pioneers’ 400 free relay team of Teodor Jaworski, Ryan Hume, Farmer and Yang took first in 3:30.47.
