Local treatment center Dawn Farm has partnered with The Ark of Ann Arbor for the second year in a row to host a benefit concert in support of scholarships for addiction treatment in Washtenaw County. The concert, Hearts for Recovery, will be held on Sunday, February 17th at The Ark at 7:30pm. Home-grown musician Ben Balmer and his band from Austin, Texas will be the featured artists of the evening. Tickets are available on The Ark’s website for $25.
Ben Balmer called upon his local and national connections to create a lineup of singer-songwriter musicians including Chris Buhalis, Heidi Burson, Abigail Stauffer, Michael O’Connor, and Jeff Plankenhorn. All of the performing musicians are donating their time and efforts so that ticket purchases can contribute directly to Dawn Farm’s Scholarship Fund.
Dawn Farm has offered low-cost, high-quality treatment services in Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor since 1973. They are the largest treatment provider in the county, serving nearly 3,000 people suffering from substance use disorders each year.
“We were so blown away by the positive feedback we received from our first benefit concert last spring that we decided to host another” says Development Director, Olivia Vigiletti. “Events that bring those who are in recovery and those who aren’t together hold a special place in my heart. They really show how supportive this community is of recovery.”
Sponsors of the benefit concert include Zingerman’s Community of Businesses, Ann Arbor State Bank, Allegra Print Mail Marketing, Forward Design Build Remodel, Cartessa, LLC, and Steve Steeb Service.
