Bike Rental Now Available at Hudson Mills Metropark

In response to repeated visitor requests, Hudson Mills Metropark is now offering bike rentals.

Huron-Clinton Metroparks has added bike rental to the list of activities available at Hudson Mills making it the third metropark offering bikes to visitors who may want to go for a spin. Willow and Lake St. Clair metroparks have already offered bikes for rent with great success.

The Huron-Clinton Metroparks are a greenbelt of parks in southeast Michigan along the Huron and Clinton rivers. Based in five counties in southeast Michigan, the 13 metroparks cover nearly 25,000 acres and provide beautiful, natural environments for area residents to enjoy. Hiking, cycling, golfing, swimming, canoeing and kayaking, fishing, picnicking, winter sports and nature education are just some of the activities the Metroparks make available to area residents.

With the historic Huron River meandering through its 1,549 acres, Hudson Mills Metropark is located on North Territorial Road five miles northwest of Dexter. The gentle rapids area is one of the river’s most picturesque natural features and is a favorite spot for anglers and picnickers.

Hudson Mills Metropark has two 24-hole disc golf courses which are rated among the top courses in Michigan. The Original Course is slightly hilly with a mixture of open and tight wooded fairways. The Monster Course is similar but significantly longer.

The 3-mile paved path is a popular destination for runners and casual cyclists as it winds its way past pines, hardwoods, wood carvings, beaver activity on Bloodroot Island, and along the Huron River.

You can now rent a bike for a tour of the 3-mile loop or get on the Border to Border Trail (B2B), part of the state’s Iron Belle Trail, and bike to Mill Creek Park in downtown Dexter for a 4.75 one-way trip.  Continue through Dexter to make the connection to Dexter-Huron Metropark to make this trip a 7-mile one-way trip.

The suggested travel route through downtown Dexter is shown on the B2B Trail Map [PDF].  The trails course along the winding Huron River, through woodlands and expansive fields full o f wildlife.

Visit the Activity Center to try out the new bikes. Rental is currently available seven days a week from 8 am- 5:30 pm. A driver’s license is required for all rentals and bikes must stay on paved trails at all times. Learn more about our rules and rates at ow.ly/8IRl30jQ4up.
