The Huron girls’ basketball team continues on a path of improvement and confidence building – at just the right time of the year. The young and talented River Rats delivered two games into the win column this past week with one final tune-up on the schedule before Districts.
On Tuesday, the River Rats knocked off crosstown rival Skyline 46-28. Alexa Lyon and Jadyn Smith each scored 11 points to lead a balanced scoring attack for the River Rats.
Huron knocked off Ypsilanti 78-56 on Friday. Reeya Patel and Jadyn Smith each scored 16 points in the win. Alexa Lyon had 15 points and Kaiden Glenn scored 14 as four Huron players reached double figures.
The River Rats have one more week before Districts. They play at Jackson on Tuesday in their final-regular season game.
Huron plays against Belleville in a District opener at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 4 at Pioneer.
