Girls Basketball: River Rats race into Districts on a winning streak

And that’s a wrap.

The Huron girls’ basketball team concluded their regular season with a solid victory and a job well done for a team with a roster full of young players and a new coach on the sideline.

The River Rats knocked off host Jackson 57-51 in their final game before Districts. Reeya Patel continued her strong play with another solid effort. The junior guard had a team-high 17 points in the win.

Sisters Jadyn and Siena Smith each scored 12 points for Huron.

The River Rats, who also won twice last week, play against Belleville in a District opener at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 4 at Pioneer.
