After scoring 21 runs in two games against Jackson on Monday, the Dexter bats went cold – along with the weather – on Wednesday afternoon in an SEC Red Division game. Jackson scored a run in the first, two in the third and one in the fifth to defeat the home team 4-1.
Dexter had four hits but an uncharacteristic four errors in the loss. They scored their only run in the sixth inning.
The four hits came at the top of the order as the top four batters – Alex Mills, Nate Kniesteadt, David Kreske and Trevor Feeman all had hits. Kreske had the team’s RBI.
Kreske pitched and went three innings. He allowed just three hits and only one earned run while striking out four with no walks.
Nathaniel Fiegel pitched in relief. He allowed just one run with two strikeouts in 4 innings of work. He also didn’t allow a walk.
Dexter hosts Pioneer at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday in an SEC crossover. Weather permitting, of course.
