Local wellness team comes together to host first Bliss Retreat in Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor, MI—May 14, 2019—We are proud to announce Bliss Retreat, the first retreat of this kind in our community. This day long event is being held at Stone Chalet Bed & Breakfast Inn and Event Center on June 9, 2019 in Ann Arbor. It’s an opportunity for people to disconnect from hectic everyday life and reconnect with themselves without having to go far. Bliss Retreat has been carefully curated to offer an experience that will be inspiring, mindful, nourishing, and full of supportive energy.

“Bliss Retreat evolved from knowing how difficult it is for many women to carve out a whole weekend to reset, recharge, and reconnect with themselves,” says Diana Racek, Founder of Bliss Retreat and local yoga instructor. “So we’re bringing this type of experience to our community—sharing tools in mindfulness and movement to help people explore how they can find bliss.”

Bliss Retreat will include yoga, meditation, brunch, a variety of wellness sessions, and movement. Diana Racek, yoga instructor, will kick off the day with a slow vinyasa yoga class that synchronizes breath with movement to clear the mind and cultivate connection. Guests will then move outside into the Stone Chalet gardens to enjoy a guided seated meditation with Anique Pegeron, local mindfulness teacher, alongside the calming and therapeutic vibrations of a crystal bowl sound bath.

In the afternoon, local wellness specialists will share insights into their area of expertise. Wellness chats include “Mindful and Healthy Nourishment for You & Your Family” with Lara Kross from VIE Fitness & Spa, “The Science of Mindfulness” with Dr. Shelly Flagel from University of Michigan, “Secrets of Beauty, Grace & Strength” with Katie Westgate from K.WEST Skin Body Soul, and “Adore Your Core: Functional Female Pelvic Floor” with Dr. Nancy Boyd from Ancoeur Wellness.

Guests will then join Sylvie Kademian, movement teacher, for an introduction into movement practice—a fresh and fun approach to explore different ways our body was designed to move.

The day will conclude with a restorative Yin Yoga session that will stretch both the body and mind.

Bliss Retreat operates under the mission to support local entrepreneurs and small businesses that are working toward a similar purpose—to help our community find ways to prioritize mindful connection, movement, and overall wellness. A portion of event ticket sales will also be donated to local National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Washtenaw County chapter in support of services offered to people (and their families) dealing with anxiety and depression.

Tickets are on sale now!
