Softball: Skyline has an easy time with Adrian in 13-0 win


Mayah Alam shut down Adrian, throwing a complete game shutout, to help Skyline to a 13-0 victory on Wednesday in an SEC crossover game.

The Eagles scored three runs in the second, four in the third, one in the fourth and five in the fifth inning. Skyline finished with 13 hits compared to only two for the host Maples. Skyline was perfect in the field while Adrian committed six errors.

Alam allowed just two hits over five innings, striking out eight and walking none.

Chloe Wilson took the loss for Adrian. She surrendered 10 runs on 10 hits over three innings, striking out one and walking one. Dempsey started the game for Adrian. She went two innings, allowing three runs on three hits, striking out one and walking zero.

Makayla Klein had three hits and three runs scored and Nyeli Kratz also had three hits for the Eagles. Jordan Hall, Madison Westhoven (three runs scored) and Esther Cohen each collected two hits in the win.

Skyline hosts Northwest HS for a DH on Friday starting at 4 p.m.
