Big Truck Day is Coming to Dexter District Library

On Saturday, June 22, Dexter District Library’s annual Big Truck and Emergency Vehicle Day will return.  This annual event will host a large variety of trucks and emergency vehicles for children and adults of all ages to experience, rain or shine from 10:00 am until noon.  The parking lot will be closed during this program to allow freedom to browse, tour and talk to the owners and operators of the wonderful machines that make our lives easier and safer.  Kids of all ages will be allowed to get up close and personal with vehicles from the Dexter Area Fire Department, Washtenaw County Sheriff, Grant’s Towing, City of Dexter Public Works, Huron Valley Ambulance, Scio Township Fire Department, HART Huron Valley, Snap On Tools, Washtenaw County Road Commission and other area businesses.

Bring your camera, there will be plenty of photo opportunities with the vehicles and our three special guests – mascots from the The Parade Company which hosts the annual Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit every year.  In the lower level meeting room, our own Dexter Dreadbots Robotics Team will be demonstrating their award winning Mark IX robot and answering questions about this year’s amazing accomplishments.    This family fun event is free and open to everyone.
