Dexter-Chelsea Trail Ribbon Ceremony Aug. 27; B2B Trail Construction Update

Please join the Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative (HWPI) on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 4 p.m. to celebrate the completion of this 2.1 mile segment beginning at Freer Road and extending to Lima Center Road. The ceremony will take place on the Freer Road end of the trail by the Oak Grove East Cemetery. Parking will be available in the lot of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1330 N. Freer Road. Families and neighbors are encouraged to attend!

The HWPI will have Iron Belle Trail bike lights for the first 50 attendees!

B2B Trail Construction Updates

Dexter-Chelsea Trail, Freer to Lima Center – The trail is complete and officially set to open on Tuesday, August 27 at 4PM!

Huron River Drive Trail, Dexter Huron HCMA Park to Zeeb Road – The contractor has completed the temporary bridge and is now working on the construction of permanent bridges #1 and #2. Trail and boardwalk construction are also underway.

M-52 Green Lake to North Territorial, Trail, Lyndon Township Trailhead and Tunnel – HWPI held a private groundbreaking ceremony on August 8 to celebrate the start of construction on these three trail elements. Partners and major supporters from the community gathered to mark the occasion.

Grove Road Trail, Ypsilanti Township – The construction of a half-mile of trail segment along Grove Road between Bridge Road and Snow Road has begun. The contractor has completed the grading and has placed 90% of stone. The paving and curb work will be completed later in August and early September.
