Boys Cross Country: Dreads run first at SEC White Jamboree 2 (with WLD photogallery)

Before the race, Dexter cross country coach Drew Collette said the Dreadnaughts were going to take it easy during their SEC White Division Jamboree 2 at Ella Sharp Park in Jackson. The Dreads have a busy stretch lately and it was time for the Dreads to stretch out and shift into cruise control against their White Division foes.

Dexter didn’t put pedal to the metal but they still took the first-place medal – yes, we have resorted to rhyming.

The Dreads finished with 42 points, seven better than second-place Chelsea. Pinckney was third with 53 followed by Adrian (117), Jackson (134), Lincoln (144), Tecumseh (173) and Ypsilanti (255).

Dexter senior Owen Huard cruised to a first-place finish with a time of 16 minutes, 08.8 seconds. Teammate Nathan Larson, also a senior, was second in 16:12.2. Senior Seth Read was eighth (16:45.7) as the Dreads finished with three runners in the top eight.
