Swimming: Dreadnaughts swim past Fenton, Adrian in dual-meet wins

The Dexter girls’ swimming and diving kept the pace last week with two convincing win including a nice 112-174 victory over Fenton in a non-league dual meet on Sept. 17.

The Dreadnaughts 200 medley relay team of Lauren Witte, Zoe Michos, Emma Sortor and Lily Witte took second in 1:59.07.

Hailee Waters won the 200 free in 2:01.23 with Elizabeth Merz second in 2:07.47 and Laura Walton third in 2:10.01.

Lauren Witte was second in the 200 IM in 2:08.53 and Michos was third in 2:26.69.

Charlotte Schultz won the 50 free in 25.08. Holly Durand was third in 27.04.

The Dreads dominated the diving – like they often do. Lily Witte took first (282.20 points), Vivian Kinnard was second (232.5) and Elysa Grossman third (214.2).

Sortor won the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:04.08.

Hailee Waters returned to the winner’s circle with her victory in the 100 freestyle in 55.05. Durand was third in 58.07.

Schultz took second in the 500 free in 5:17.59.

The Dreads went one-two in the 200 free relay with Lily Witte, Waters, Durand and Schultz touching first in 1:44.40. The team of Theresa Rutz, Sortor, Dani Schulz and Merz in second in 1:50.53.

Lauren Witte won the backstroke in 1:02.86 with Maddi Matos in second in 1:04.59.

Michos was second in the breaststroke in 1:14.67.

The Dexter team of Schultz, Merz, Durand and Waters was second in the 400 free relay in 3:50.01.

On Sept. 19, the Dreads dunked SEC rival Adrian 152-32. Dexter took first and second in every event.
