B2B Trail: Grove Road Trail Segment Opening Oct. 8

Huron River Drive Trail, Dexter Huron Metropark to Zeeb Road – All four permanent bridge abutments are now complete. Bridge #1 has been delivered, with installation planned for early October. Bridge #2 will be delivered in late September. The contractor is continuing to work on the boardwalks and stone placement on the trail. Paving is anticipated to begin in mid-October.

M-52 Chelsea-Stockbridge Trail, Lyndon Township Trailhead – Grading has begun on the parking lot and the universal access hiking trail. Stone placement will occur prior to the end of construction season this fall.

M-52 Chelsea-Stockbridge Trail, Green Lake to North Territorial Road – The contractor has started work on stump removals and installing the silt fence for the project. They plan to begin grading and stone placement on the path in October. Work on some of the retaining walls will occur in November, before the seasonal shut down.

M-52 Chelsea-Stockbridge Trail, Tunnel Project – A preconstruction meeting was held for the tunnel project where timelines were discussed. Construction work will likely be delayed until the spring of 2020, due the production time needed to fabricate the concrete tunnel sections.
