There are big games and really big games.
This is a really, really big game.
Dexter hosts Chelsea – which makes it a big game regardless of sport or circumstance – on Tuesday, Oct. 22 in the annual Dig Pink Game. The two teams, programs and schools come together once a year for a bigger cause than their friendly rivalry. The Dig Pink Game helps raise money for breast cancer awareness and is an impressive event every year.
“It’s not only a fun rivalry game but it’s for a good cause,” says Dexter’s Ashley Haralson.
Dexter’s Quinn LaFontaine agrees.
“Dexter vs. Chelsea is a big rivalry that always draws a large crowd so having a Dig Pink on that night is so awesome because even though we are playing a big game we are also reaching a ton of people to bring awareness to breast cancer and celebrating breast cancer survivors,” LaFontaine says.
The annual Dig Pink Game begins with freshman and JV at 5:30 p.m. The varsity match begins at 7 p.m. Anyone with the 2019 Dig Pink shirt gets in for free. The event also includes a bake sale, raffles and more.
