Boys Basketball: Dreadnaughts dunk host Jackson in SEC White match-up

Grab a microphone: “On the road again, I can’t wait to get on the road again …”

The Dexter boys’ basketball team has gone full Willie Nelson as they won “on the road again” with a 60-40 victory over host Jackson in an SEC White Division showdown. The Dreadnaughts improved to 5-1 on the season.

“Our defense was solid for us (Tuesday),” said Dexter Coach Jason Rushton. “Cal Bavineau played great on-the-ball defense for us all night and did a great job distributing the ball (team-high 6 assists). We also had some strong contributions off the bench.”

Marco Lucchesi had a huge game for Dexter. The senior had a game-high 19 points – including two triples in the third quarter – and gathered six rebounds. Colin Parachek added eight points to go along with nine rebounds.

Bobby Pnacek and Aidan Dexter both came off the bench and each scored nine points.

Dexter led 13-8 after the first quarter and 21-15 at halftime. The Dreadnaughts outscored the Vikings 19-10 in the third quarter.

Dexter plays at Lincoln on Friday.
