Spring Story Time Registration Begins

Dancer’s Edge Presents: Music and Movement for Toddlers and Preschoolers
Children ages 6 and under, along with their caregiver, are invited to participate in a special dance class with Jennifer Smith of Dancers Edge. Filled with music, playful interaction and movement, this class is designed for the youngest dancers. Get ready to wiggle, jump and move to music, props and fun. Refreshments and a simple craft will be offered following the program. Registration is not required.

Help plan programs, organize community service projects, and volunteer at Library events. This is a great opportunity to build up your resume and obtain volunteer hours. Spring Story Times Begin
Spring Story Times for toddlers and preschoolers will start on Monday, March 23 and run until Wednesday, May 13. Registration is required, parents or caregivers of children may register in person at the Library or by calling 734-426-4477. Space is limited so registration will be on a first come first served basis.
Children 18 months to 3 years of age may sign up for one Toddler Story Time. Toddler Story Times are held on Mondays or Tuesdays at 10:30 am. Children under 18 months may attend, however books and activities are geared for toddlers. Children 3 to 5 years of age may sign up for one Preschool Story Time. Preschool Story Times are held on Mondays or Tuesdays at 11:30 am. Combined Toddler/Preschool Story Times are held on Wednesdays at 10:30 am, registration is required.
Drop-In Story Times for all ages will be offered on Thursdays at 10:30 am in the lower level meeting room from March 26 to May 14. Infants are welcome at story times with their siblings. Parents or caregivers are required to attend. Daycare Centers are welcome to all Drop-In Story Times. Each session lasts approximately 30 minutes.
Spring Story Times for children include picture, pop-up and interactive books, flannel-board stories, songs, puppets, finger plays, crafts and other activities that encourage a love of reading to your child.

Summer Reading Program Kick-Off
Everyone is invited to register for this year’s Summer Reading Program “Imagine Your Story”, there are reading clubs for adults, teens and kids of all ages. With the Library’s slogan “Imagine Your Story”, themes of fairy tales, mythology and fantasy will have a magical starting point to encourage reading throughout the summer.
The Summer Reading Program kicks off with live music for all ages featuring singer/song writer Jim Gill. Each of Jim Gill’s concerts is an active sing-along and clap-along. He bangs out energetic rhythms on his banjo while everyone claps, jumps, dances and even sneezes along. The concert is filled, of course, with songs and stories from Jim’s award-winning recordings and books for young children. Join us a for a fun morning of music and laughter, register for the Summer Reading Program and then head down to Farmers Market for refreshments and a visit with a live unicorn. Everyone is welcome.
