Support our Schools: Educational Foundation of Dexter Fundraising Gala Celebrates 35 Years

Tickets are on sale for the annual Educational Foundation of Dexter Fundraising Gala, which will take place at Weber’s Atrium Ballroom on Friday, April 24, from 7-10 p.m.

Dedicated to supporting the Dexter Community Schools’ students and staff, the annual Gala raises funds to support programs and initiatives beyond district resources.

“The Gala is our largest fundraising event of the year, and we are thankful for the donors and community supporters who help make these grants possible,” said Heidi Patel, The Educational Foundation of Dexter Board President.

Since 1984, The Educational Foundation of Dexter (EFD) has awarded over $930,000 in grants, funding over 200 educational enrichment programs. The 2019 Fall Grants supported 13 programs across all of the buildings including:

  • Adapted Music for Students with Special Needs
  • Coding to the Moon: Theater Performance for 3rd Grade
  • Detroit Institute of the Arts Field Trip for 6th Grade
  • Mirrors and Windows: Hall of Heroes
  • Iron Dread Conjugate Equipment

A complete list of programs and distribution details can be found online at www.efdexter.org/fall-2019-grants/

“This year’s Gala is truly special because it marks the Educational Foundation of Dexter’s 35 years of service to Dexter Community Schools. We are excited to be a part of what makes Dexter so amazing and welcome the community to join us in supporting these programs, which will benefit students in every building,” said Patel.

The Gala includes a strolling dinner with a carving station, a dessert table and an open bar. The evening features both silent and live auctions, online auctions, raffles, and a wine pull.

Individual tickets are $75 per person, or two for $140 and can be purchased HERE through Friday, April 17, 2020.
