City Office Availability on Aug. 4, 2020
As part of administering the August 4, 2020 Election, the election inspectors who process the absentee ballots will be at the City Office from 7 am to 8 pm. To ensure proper social distancing, the majority of City staff who normally work at the City Office will be working from home on that day. If you have non election related business to conduct at the City Office the week of August 3rd, we are requesting that you please visit the office on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday so that we can conduct only election related business on Tuesday.
Aug. 4, 2020 Election Information – In Person Voting
Precincts will be open for in person voting on Election Day from 7 am to 8 pm. Precincts 1 and 3 are located at the Dexter Senior Center. Precinct 2 is located at St. Andrews Church. The State of Michigan, Washtenaw County and the City have purchased protective equipment for the polling locations. Masks, hand sanitizer and gloves will be made available to voters.

August 4, 2020 Election Information – Absentee Voting
We strongly suggest requesting an application as soon as possible if you are interested in voting absentee.
If you have mailed in your absentee ballot, you can check to see that your ballot has been received by our office by visiting – https://www.michigan.gov/vote.
Absentee ballots are available via mail or in person until 5 pm on Friday, July 31, 2020. Ballots can be requested in person only on Saturday, August 1st from 9 am to 5 pm and Monday, August 3rd from 9 am to 4 pm. Ballots requested on Monday, August 3rd must be voted at the City Office. It is against State of Michigan election law for the Clerk to give an absentee ballot over the counter to someone other than the person whose name is on the ballot.
– Place it into the drop box located next to the door of the Sheriff’s Substation at 8140 Main – accessible 24/7.
– From 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday (and Saturday, August 1st) ballots can be brought to the City Office or placed into a drop box just inside the door on the main floor of the PNC Bank (8123 Main). – Send in via mail, however postal delays can occur which could lead to the ballot not being received by 8 pm on Election Day.
– On Election Day, absentee ballots should be returned directly to the City Office between the hours of 7 am and 8 pm.
