2020 Crack Seal Project

Crack seal work on various streets in Dexter will begin on Monday, August 17, 2020. Work areas include the decorative crosswalks downtown, all of the Industrial Park, Dover, Edison, Huron View Ct, and Cushing Court and portions of Inverness, Central and Second. This work is not expected to have a significant impact on residents or commuting traffic. Please proceed carefully through work zones.

Pavement Markings

City contractor JV Contracting is scheduled to complete the yellow lines on Saturday, August 15, 2020. This work will not require road closures, however some lanes may be closed while the paint dries. Please proceed carefully through work zones.

Census 2020

Thank you to all of the residents that have submitted their information for the 2020 Census. So far the City of Dexter has an 80.6% self-response rate. Population is a significant factor in determining the level of various types of funding we receive from the State of Michigan. If you have not yet responded, you can still complete the form online, over the phone, or by mail. Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office Alert System Transition

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office has upgraded their current Nixle program to the Everbridge Alert system to communicate with citizens and businesses during emergencies and other critical events. Anyone living or working in Washtenaw County is encouraged to register to receive these alerts at www.washtenaw.org/alerts.
