Field Hockey: Dexter’s Abby Tamer nets 100th goal

Abby Tamer has hit the century mark.

The talented Dexter field hockey player scored the 100th goal of her amazing career in just Dexter’s fourth game of the season Wednesday night against Marian at Al Ritt Stadium in Dexter.

The senior scored two goals in the first half and two more in the second half in a game that was called with 7 minutes left in the fourth quarter because of the 8-0 mercy rule.

Tamer has shown few teams any mercy during her career. She tallied 36 goals and 14 assists in the regular season and had five goals and two assists in the playoffs to help lead Dexter to the Division 1 State Championship.

She was the winner of the Michigan Player of the Year award last year and also was named to the MHSFHA All-State Dream Team.

She has nine goals already this season helping lead Dexter to a 4-0 start on the season.
