Halloween Family Fun at Dexter District Library

Please join us in celebrating a virtual Halloween at Dexter District Library, everyone is welcome.

Virtual Fall Story Times Continue
Fall Story Times for ages five and under will be offered on Tuesdays at 10:30 am on our DDL facebook page from September 15 to November 17.  Everyone is welcome to join Ms Krista for a fun morning of picture, pop-up and interactive books, flannel-board stories, songs, puppets, finger plays and other activities that encourage a love of reading to your child.  Registration is not required.

Monday, October 12
Grab & Go Preschool Fall Craft Bags
Beginning October 12, we will be giving out craft bags for toddlers and preschoolers ages 5 and younger.  Call the Library from the parking lot and we’ll bring the bags out for you.  There’s a limit of three bags per family until supplies run out, all bags have the same crafts.

October 16 through 24
Halloween Craft Competition
Teens and tweens in grades 5 through 12 are invited to make a stuffed monster using the materials provided by the Library.  Add your own optional embellishments to make it unique then email a picture of your final product to dalson@dexter.lib.mi.us for a chance to win a gift card.  Please note:  you will need your own needle and thread for this project.  Registration is required and runs from October 1 through 15.  Pick up materials from October 16 to October 24.  Last day to submit a picture is October 29.  Full contest details and materials pick-up information will be sent to registered participants.

Join Ms Krista live on our facebook page for a fun morning of picture books, flannel-board stories, songs, finger plays and other activities celebrating Halloween.  Geared for ages five and under but everyone is welcome.

The Spooktacular Halloween Comedy Show
Watch Silly Scientist Joel juggle eyeballs, get mixed up with multiplying bottles and be shocked by an animated Frankenstein drawing in this head spinning display of Halloween hootenanny.  You’ll even be illuminated by Joel’s far-out flashlight where he encourages Halloween safety.  A Zoom Magical Halloween adventure awaits in this exciting-not-scary show for all ages.  Registration is required on our DDL website at https://dexter.lib.mi.us/events/the-spooktacular-halloween-comedy-show/
