Volleyball: Dreadnaughts take down Tecumseh in straight sets

Tecumseh put up quite the fight in the first game on Wednesday against visiting Dexter in an SEC White Division match-up.

The Indians finished within a couple of points of the talented Dreadnaughts in the opener, falling 25-23. Then, Dexter switched gears. The Dreadnaughts won the second game 25-17 and finished off their hosts with a 25-13 win in game three.

As usual, Dexter had a number of standouts who teamed up to spike this match in the win column. Volleyball is very much a team game and Dexter’s success is based on the team concept – as in, everyone contributes.

Let’s provide some examples.

Delaney Arnedt had 20 assists, 11 serves and five digs; Jordan Kless had seven kills, 12 serves and 20 digs; Eleanor King had five kills, 19 assists, 18 serves, five aces and 15 digs; Avery Goodrich had 14 kills, 15 serves and 17 digs; Mikah Salemi had three kills and two digs; Livvy Mellifont had 11 serves and 23 digs; and Cami Fisher had eight kills and five digs.

All these numbers added up to another Dexter win.

The Dreadnaughts host the SEC Volleyball Jamboree on Saturday.
