Absentee Ballot Reminders
Absentee ballots are available at the City Clerk’s Office the following dates and times:
- Monday through Friday – 9 am to 5 pm until 5 pm on Friday, October 30th
- Saturday, October 31st from 9 am – 5 pm
- Monday, November 2nd from 9 am – 4 pm (Ballot must be voted at the City Office)
We have seen an increase in people needing to spoil their ballot due to using a marker that bleeds through the paper. Please only use a black or blue ballpoint ink pen to mark the ballot.
If you requested an absentee ballot and have decided to vote in-person at your polling location, please help to avoid delays at the polls by bringing the absentee ballot to the City Office during the hours listed above and asking to spoil the ballot. If you are unable to do this, the ballot can be surrendered to the poll workers on Election Day, however they will need to perform several steps before a new ballot can be issued.
To date approximately 60% of City of Dexter voters have requested an absentee ballot. To verify that your ballot has been received by our office, enter your information at www.michigan.gov/vote . When the ballot is marked as received it means the signature has been reviewed and the ballot is ready for processing on election day. You can also contact the City Office at 734-426-8303 to confirm receipt .
If you have any questions about absentee voting, please contact the City Clerk ASAP at 734-580-2234.
