Cross Country: Dreadnaughts run in SEC White Division Championships  

The Dexter boys’ cross country team ran second on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the SEC White Division meet at Hudson Mills in Dexter. The Dreadnaughts crossed the finish line with 57 points, 12 behind first-place Pinckney (45). Chelsea was third with 64 followed by Adrian (76).

“The boys ran really well, we’re coming on at the right time with everyone healthy and hitting their strides,” said Dexter Coach Nathan Lamb. “I’m really proud of these boys for executing their race plan.”

Dexter had three seniors land in order among the top 10. Conor Kolka was fifth (16:12.3), Nathan Gariepy ran sixth (16:21.3) and Sam Melvin crossed seventh (16:31.2) for the Dreads.

Junior Josh Lamb was 17th (17:11.6), junior Zachary Sawin was 22nd (17:34.7), sophomore Owen Ackerman was 31st (17:59.6) and junior Adam Hauser was 36th (18:19.3).

Gariepy, Melvin, Lamb and Sawin all ran PR times while Kolka, Gariepy, Melvin and Lamb earned All-SEC honors.

Dexter freshman Brandon Anderson ran a PR and finished first overall in the JV race with a time 17:34.7.

Girls

The Dexter girls’ finished fourth overall with 80 points at Saturday’s SEC meet at Hudson Mills. Pinckney was first with 44 points followed by Chelsea (62) and Tecumseh (66). Lincoln was fifth with 108.

Junior Amanda McGill cracked the top five with her fourth-place finish time of 20:00.3. Sophomore Chloe Sprague was 15th (21:06.5) and junior Hannah McComas was 16th (21:16.1) for the Dreads.

Sophomore Quinn Hilla ran 20th (21:29.1), senior Faith Jones was 25th (21:51.4), junior Annissa Sisson was 27th (21:56.0) and junior Ashley Mitchell crossed 33rd (23:00.3).
