Recognize a DCS teacher or staff person this holiday season

From the Educational Foundation of Dexter

If there’s one thing that we are confident in, it’s how crucial Dexter Community Schools and staff are for our students’ learning. DCS Staff is committed both in and out of a pandemic to guide our children. We couldn’t be more proud of DCS staff and want to invite you to recognize a DCS teacher or staff person this holiday season via a Dread Strong Appreciation Award.

The teacher or staff member you recognize will receive a certificate including your note of appreciation and be included in a digital slide display in the front office of their school building. Submissions are due 12/15.

GRANTS

  • District
    • Mood Lifters is back! Mood Lifters was funded by E4DS (now merged with EFD) for Spring 2019 and was delayed due to Covid. It is starting back up again at DHS. Check for more information on the DHS Facebook page.
    • E4DS (now merged with EFD) gave DCS $32,000 in the Spring of 2020 to be used towards district grants. Stay tuned in 2021 to learn how these funds support programs for Dexter students.
    • The district needs that are likely to arise from the COVID-19 pandemic are yet to be fully realized. EFD will continue conversations with administration about where funding needs may exist after the new year. Examples of potential initiatives to receive EFD funding in 2021 includes programs to support student mental and physical health as we navigate this new learning environment & the potential repercussions of the pandemic on student well being.
  • Teacher
    • EFD approved 8 teacher grants this Fall for a total of $6,581.41. We are excited to support teacher classroom innovation!
