United Way of Washtenaw receives $100,000 from the Song Foundation to Maximize Impact

ANN ARBOR – United Way of Washtenaw County (UWWC) announced a $100,000 gift from the Song Foundation to provide a match program so that any year-end gift will be matched for UWWC’s Community Impact Fund. The Community Impact Fund continues to address the critical needs addressed by local nonprofits and exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic in the areas of  health, education and financial stability.

“We are proud to invest in the United Way Community Impact Fund, and encourage others to join the United Way’s efforts to help the helpers, and protect our community at this critical time,” said Dug Song, co-founder of the Song Foundation.

Nonprofit agencies and community groups have weathered a surge in neighborhood needs, service requests, increased staffing requirements and operating reserve needs.  The funds matched by donors will provide relief to nonprofits so they can continue to deliver COVID-19 response and recovery initiatives efforts and meet the needs of our community’s most marginalized individuals, families and children.

“The Song Foundation was instrumental in helping accelerate our COVID-19 Relief Fund and with this gift we are ensuring donors’ gifts will be matched and the community will benefit again from their generosity,” shared Pam Smith, President and CEO of UWWC. “We encourage employees making Community Impact Fund gifts to see whether it qualifies under their company’s matching gift program.”
