The Dexter girls’ basketball team continued its lockdown defense on Tuesday night in a 40-16 win over Milford in a non-league game. The Dreadnaughts held visiting Milford to two points in the first quarter and seven at halftime. The tone was set and the offense took over from that point on.
Dexter led 17-7 at the intermission and 25-12 after three quarters.
While the offense only scored 17 points in the first half, they got things rolling in the fourth quarter with 15 points, including field goals from five different players.
Dexter improved to 3-1 on the young season, including 1-0 in the SEC White. They have won three straight since opening with a tough loss on the road to Farmington Hills Mercy.

The offense was spread out for the Dreadnaughts as they moved the ball around and got everyone involved. Eight Dreadnaughts reached the scorebook. Junior forward Sydney Pnacek was only player in double figures with 10 points, but Shannon Schoch scored nine (5 of 6 from the free-throw line), Maddi Valentine had six points and Brianna Rodriguez and Alayna Babut each scored four. Kylee Niswonger hit a triple in the second quarter and Chloe Perry and Kayla Rivers each scored two.
Dexter hits the road on Thursday for an SEC White Division game on Tuesday.
