Girls Basketball: Dexter races past Adrian to improve to 4-1; Chelsea next

The Dexter girls’ basketball team had another dominating performance on Thursday night to improve to 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in the SEC White. And this one was won shortly after the opening tip.

The Dreadnaughts raced out to a 25-4 first-quarter lead and cruised to a 74-17 win over host Adrian. Dexter led 53-6 at halftime and basically took the rest of the night off.

Seven players scored for Dexter in the first quarter and every player finished on the scoresheet by the end of the game.

Sydney Pnacek continues to put up big numbers for the Dreads. The senior scored 16 points to lead the offense. Chloe Perry also reached double figures with 10 points. Brianna Rodriguez and Alayna Babut both scored all of their nine points in the first half. Kylee Niswonger scored six of her eight points in the first half and Maddi Valentine scored all of her seven points in the first half.

The Dreadnaughts knocked down four triples in the win and were an impressive 8 of 9 from the free-throw line.

Dexter hosts rival Chelsea on Monday in an SEC White showdown.
