Boys Basketball: Dreadnaughts dribble into the win column with victory at Tecumseh

The Dexter boys’ basketball team hit the road on Thursday and returned with not only a victory but a chance to get everyone some valuable minutes.

The Dreadnaughts opened up a 10-3 lead in the first quarter over SEC rival Tecumseh and then stretched it to 24-12 at halftime. Dexter outscored the hosts 16-9 in the third quarter and coasted to a 47-30 win.

Dexter improves to 7-3 on the season.

Colin Parachek had another big game. The senior forward finished with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 steals. Aidan Dexter also added 13 points along with three steals.
Sam Sterlitz (6-foot-9), who continues to improve and has even impressed some college coaches, had 5 rebounds and 6 blocks along with two points.

Ty Rychener had seven points, Cal Bavineau scored five and Even Haroldson scored four for the Dreadnaughts.

“With a strong third quarter on both ends, we were able to have some younger guys close it out, which is always great to see,” said Dexter Coach Jason Rushton. “They came in, they were solid on defense and we were able to execute on offense, that’s all we can ask for. These minutes and experience will help us grow as a team and get us where we need to be in a couple weeks.”
