ANN ARBOR – Thomas O’Neil, MD, medical director for Arbor Hospice and NorthStar Palliative Care, recently earned the designation Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (FAAHPM). The Academy is the professional organization for physicians who care for patients with a serious illness.
Dr. O’Neil received his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit and trained in Family Medicine at The University of Michigan. Following residency, he completed at Fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the University of Michigan. After remaining at the University of Michigan as faculty, he joined Arbor Hospice full time in December 2018.
Dr. O’Neil and his hospice and palliative care colleagues celebrated the designation virtually at the Annual Assembly of Hospice and Palliative Care ceremony held Feb. 17 through 19, 2021.
The Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine status is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a physician member. Dr. O’Neil has demonstrated a significant commitment to the field of hospice and palliative medicine, and we celebrate him in his achievement.
