Club Create
Kids in grades K through 2 are invited to join us on our DDL Facebook page, every other Wednesday at 4:30 pm beginning March 3. Ms. Krista will share fun challenges, activities and craft ideas that you can try at home. She will also highlight a few new chapter books and readers. Everyone is welcome. Dates: March 3, March 17, April 14, April 28, May 12.

Preschool Super Stories
Kids ages five and younger are invited to join Ms. Krista on our DDL Facebook page every other Thursday at 11:00 am. Ms. Krista will read a longer picture book and share an activity related to the book. Everyone is welcome. Dates: March 11, March 25, April 8, April 22, May 6, May 20

Tuesdays, March 23 to May 18 at 10:30 am
Virtual Spring Story Times
Spring Story Times for ages five and under will be offered on Tuesdays at 10:30 am on our DDL Facebook page from March 23 to May 18. Everyone is welcome to join Ms. Krista for a fun morning of picture, pop-up and interactive books, flannel-board stories, songs, puppets, finger plays and other activities that encourage a love of reading to your child. Registration is not required.

Wildlife Encounters: Wonders of the Rainforest
Meet animal ambassadors native to rainforest regions including a ring tailed lemur, crocodilian, boa constrictor, macaw, armadillo and a honey bear. Everyone is invited to join us for this live, virtual, interactive event. Presenters will be able to respond to your questions and comments. Registration is required. A link to our Zoom meeting room will be sent to you prior to April 21.

Star Wars Day Celebration
Prepare to celebrate Star Wars Day on May 4 with your own bag of crafts, stickers and more. Email a picture of one of your completed crafts to the teen librarian dalson@dexter.lib.mi.us by May 8 for a chance to win a Pop! Star Wars BB-8 Bobble. Winner will be chosen at random from all entries. Registration is required. Teens and tweens in grades 5 through 12 may register on our website beginning April 1. Full details will be provided to registered participants

DIY Tea Cup Painting
Pick up your own ceramic tea cup and saucer to paint to hold an indoor plant. This could make a wonderful Mother’s Day gift, or keep it for yourself to hold your trinkets. Mother’s Day card-making supplies will also be included. Registration is required. Teens in grades 5 through 12 may register on our website beginning April 5. Full details will be provided to registered participants.
Materials Needed: Acrylic craft paint, paint brush

Mother’s Day Craft Kit
Mother’s Day Craft Kits are for kids of all ages. They will be available from May 3 to May 8. Call from the Library parking lot and we’ll deliver them to our outside table or you can pick them up inside. Registration is required on our website beginning Monday, April 19.

Alex Thomas – Virtual Caricature Drawing Workshop
Learn to draw fun caricatures of some of your favorite characters led by a puppet instructor! Whether you are just beginning or more advanced, this workshop will teach you the tips, tricks, and techniques of caricature drawing! Registration is required. Participants will be emailed a Zoom link prior to May 15.

All Star Readers
All Star Readers Book Club for grades 3 and 4 will meet again on Thursday, May 20 from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. Registration is required and begins on Thursday, April 15. The book we will be discussing is Klawde by Johnny Marciano. Books will be available for pick up when you register. Join us for a fun, lively afternoon with Ms. Krista leading our discussion, everyone is welcome. A link to our Zoom meeting room and a password will be sent to you prior to May 20.

Teen Self-Care Kits
Need help getting through the school year? De-stress with one of our self-care kits which includes goodies, a mini Zen garden craft, calming exercises and more. Registration is required. Teens in grades 6 through 12 may register on our website beginning May 1. Full details will be emailed to registered participants.
