Baseball: Dexter’s Tessmer, Fuson carry offense in victory over Canton

Dexter’s Joey Tessmer had three hits, three RBI and two runs scored and Braeden Fuson had a triple and a double to help lead the Dexter baseball team to an 8-3 win over Canton on Friday in a single non-league game.

The Dreadnaughts scored two runs in the first, third, fourth and seventh innings on nine hits. Cole Arnedt, Evan Krolewski, Cam Rosen and Wyatt Novara all had hits in the win.

Canton managed just two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth.

Three Dexter pitchers kept the Chiefs off the bases. Starter Brennan Parachek recorded nine strikeouts over 3.2 innings. He allowed just four hits with three walks.

Andrew Basso went 2.1 innings and had two strikeouts and allowed just one hit and no walks. Rosen went the final inning, adding a strikeout.

On Saturday, Dexter dropped a doubleheader to Saline. The Hornets won the first game 4-1 and took the nightcap 7-1.
