Dexter Community Fund Smart Charitable Giving Webinar May 12

The Dexter Community Fund (DCF) will be hosting a free webinar, Smart Charitable Giving, on financial and tax charitable giving strategies, on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, 7:00 – 7:30 PM.

Maximize the impact of your charitable gifts for the organizations you love and for you and your family. In this 30-minute webinar, Melissa Joy, financial planner and Dexter Community Fund Advisory Committee member will summarize:

● How the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act impacted charitable giving

● Opportunities for deductions through stimulus legislation

● How to give through a Donor Advised Fund

● Qualified Charitable Distributions for those over 70.5

● Gifts of appreciated stock

● How to establish bequests to charitable organizations

● How to vet a charitable organization before you give

The information in this presentation would be relevant for anyone who gives to non-profits or tax-exempt organizations and for those who work or volunteer in the non-profit community. We will allow time for questions upon conclusion of the 30-minute presentation.
