Track & Field: Dexter runs past Tecumseh in final dual-meet of the season

The Dexter boys and girls track and field teams traveled to Tecumseh on Monday for a rescheduled dual meet from last month and both returned with wins. The boys dominated the meet with a 90-46 victory. The girls won their meet 76-61.

Some of the top performers for the Dexter boys were dual-event winners Cole Cabana, in both the 100m and the 2oom; Conor Kolka winning both the 1600m and the 3200m runs; and James Livingston winning both the shot put and the discus. Nathan Gariepy won the 400m, and Wilson Kasischke took the top spot in the 300 hurdles. Other field event winners were Micah Davis in the high jump, Clark Sheldon in the pole vault, and Andy Jordan winning the long jump.

On the track for the girls side, Gracie Burns won the 200m, Amanda McGill won the 1600m, and Abigail Fox won the 3200m.

In the field events, Jamie Giese won the shot put, Abby Marek took the top spot in the discus, Haley Craig won the high jump and the pole vault was won by Josianne Mettes.

Both the boys and girls will travel to Ypsilanti Lincoln high school on Friday for the SEC White Conference Championships.
