Field Hockey: Dreadnaughts begin challenging title defense Oct. 26

The Michigan High School Field Hockey Association Division 1 state playoffs are set with undefeated Pioneer claiming the top seed. Skyline is seeded second and Saline is seeded third. Defending champion Dexter is the fourth seed with Huron seeded fifth.

Pioneer will open up against Grand Rapids Forest Hills (eighth seed) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at Pioneer. The other side of the bracket will have Dexter hosting AA Huron at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at Al Ritt Stadium. The winners will play in a semifinal game at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28 in Dexter.

Second-seeded Skyline opens the playoffs with a home game against seventh-seeded Novi at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 26. The Eagles have lost only twice this season – both to Pioneer. The other side of the bracket features Saline vs. University Liggett. The winners will play at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28 in Dexter.

The finals are at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Chelsea.
