Washtenaw Economic Club event focuses on real estate impact on economy, workforce

The November meeting of the Washtenaw Economic Club will focus on the impact of real estate on the economy and workforce. Albert Berriz, Chief Executive Officer, Co-Owner and Managing Member of The McKinley Companies, will lead the presentation and Q&A session.

The virtual meeting begins at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4. The event is free for Washtenaw Economic Club members and $25 for non-members. Attendees may register at www.wccnet.edu/economic-club/.

The presentation will specifically look at the uneven impact COVID-19 had on asset classes, markets, regions and states; the supply/demand imbalance and outlook of multifamily and single-family housing; and setting realistic expectations for the Ann Arbor region.

Berriz has extensive experience in the acquisition, financing, management and redevelopment of real estate assets and has been responsible for acquiring and managing assets in excess of $10 billion during his career. McKinley is a real estate investment company that owns and operates a $4.6 billion real estate portfolio.

Berriz is an active business and community leader and has received numerous awards and recognitions throughout his career, including being named among The Most Powerful Business Leaders in Metro Detroit in Detroit 500.

The Washtenaw Economic Club’s mission is to provide a forum for identifying and discussing economic issues and analysis that directly impact the business community and decision-making processes.
