The Dexter girls’ basketball team won its third straight game and improved to 3-1 on the young season with a 52-38 win over visiting Bedford on Friday night.
Dexter knocked down 12 of 14 free-throw attempts in the game.
The Dreadnaughts had a strong first half to take control of the game. The home team led 13-7 after the first quarter and took a 26-15 lead into halftime. Dexter had two triples and made seven free throws in the second quarter.
Dexter outscored Bedford 14-13 in the third quarter and 12-10 in the fourth quarter.
One of the Dreadnaughts’ strength is their depth on the offensive end and they showed that off to the Kicking Mules. Five players scored seven or more points in the win.
Maddi Valentine hit four triples and scored all of her 16 points in the first three quarters to lead Dexter. She had eight points in the second quarter.
Chloe Perry scored in every quarter and finished with 10 points. Sydney Pnacek had nine points, Brianna Rodriguez hit two triples and finished with eight points and Alena Blumberg scored seven.
