Boys Basketball: Dreadnaughts finish 2021 in the win column

Bring on the New Year!

The Dexter boys’ basketball team said goodbye to 2021 with a convincing win in the Motor City Roundball Classic to finish the “year” with a perfect 4-0 record.

The Dreadnaughts return to action with a challenging non-league game on Jan. 6 at Detroit Catholic Central.

Dexter was scheduled to play Walled Lake Western in the annual Roundball Classic but the Warriors were forced to cancel because of some Covid issues. Detroit Public Safety Academy stepped in to give Dexter a game.

The Dreadnaughts started strong and built a 21-1 lead after the first quarter and cruised to a 66-29 win.

Evan Haroldson led the Dreads with 19 points, 4 rebounds and received the MCRC Most Outstanding Player of the Game award. Brennan Parachek also had a great all-around game with 13 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocks.

Cal Bavineau had 11 points, 5 assists and 4 steals in the win.
