ANN ARBOR – The Guild of Artists & Artisans (The Guild) announces its first exhibition of 2022, Anything Goes, the second annual all media exhibition in Gutman Gallery! The exhibition kicks off with an open house style reception on Friday, Jan. 28 from 4-6 p.m. and runs through March 5. The gallery will be open to the public Wednesday – Saturday from 11 am – 5 pm or by appointment.
Anything Goes was juried by guest juror, Sara Adlerstein-Gonzalez, a member of WSG – a neighbor of Gutman Gallery, along with Guild staff. Anything Goes features 36 works from 32 talented artists, representing a variety of styles, techniques, and media. The show includes two ceramic portraits from Barbara Melnik Carson, a sextet of silk screens from John Gutoskey, and an encaustic painting from Esther Kirshenbaum.
The Guild will host a socially distanced open house style reception for the exhibition opening on Friday, January 28 from 4-6pm. Artists, patrons, and community members are invited to experience the exhibition firsthand and meet some of the artists. Masks will be required upon entry and gallery staff will monitor the number of patrons in the gallery at one time. Visit Gutman Gallery’s Anything Goes Facebook event page for opening reception details, exhibition updates, and artist highlights.
Throughout the duration of the exhibition, Artist Pop-Ups will continue on Saturdays in Gutman Gallery! Art-lovers are invited to visit the gallery on Saturdays to meet the artists behind the work and shop a wider variety of their art. Different gallery artists will be setting up shop each Saturday from 11am-5pm. Follow along on Facebook and Instagram, where we will announce the line-up each week!
The Guild continues to take measures to create a safe and comfortable environment for its community of artists and art-lovers. At this time, The Guild requires masks to be worn by all visitors at all times (masks are available to those who do not have their own). Hand sanitizer stations, courtesy of Mammoth Distilling, will be set up throughout the gallery, surfaces will be wiped down regularly, and touchless payments are an option for all transactions.
Gutman Gallery is thankful to its donors and community partners whose support makes this and other programs possible. A special thank you to: Vic Gutman & Associates, the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authority, Mammoth Distilling, and Dollar Bill Printing
