United Way of Washtenaw County (UWWC) is hosting its 14th annual Power of the Purse event on March 9, 2022. The event will be fully virtual. The event celebrates the power of women in our community and honors a woman of the year, and includes a live purse auction, a raffle and special guests.
Jimena Loveluck, Health Officer for the Washtenaw County Health Department, has been selected by the United Way of Washtenaw County Women United group as the 2022 Woman of the Year and will receive this honor during the event.
The Power of The Purse is an annual event hosted by UWWC’s affinity group, Women United. The committee has raised nearly $400,000 to support the financial stability and success for women in Washtenaw County.
Nicole Kontyko, Senior Client Experience Manager with Key Private Bank, will serve as the event Chair this year. “It is my honor to serve the women of this community as the Chairwoman of the Power of the Purse Committee. The community impact of this event helps women to achieve their goals of returning to school, employment or financial stability. The investment that we make will generate a difference in our community for generations to come.” shared Nicole.
Please contact Ebony Robinson at erobinson@uwwashtenaw.org if you would like to sponsor the event or donate a purse.
